Additional Terms and Conditions
for Branch Services and Online Currency Orders
By buying or selling currency with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these online terms and conditions, as well as all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not understand or agree to these terms, please do not proceed with placing an order, as doing so constitutes your acceptance of these terms.
General Terms
- The customer should be a minimum of 18 years of age. We reserve the right to verify the customer’s age by requesting proof of ID despite the amount being exchanged.
- By making a payment, you confirm that you are acting independently and for a legitimate purpose, and that the funds being used are legally and beneficially yours. You further guarantee that these funds have not been obtained unlawfully, do not violate the rights of their legal owner, and are not connected to any criminal activity.
- Our online exchange rates update frequently and will only be honoured if you have pre booked and visit us with the confirmation email.
- We cannot guarantee the exact order amount. However, we will endeavour to have the closest possible to your order amount, subject to our availability and delivery.
- Exchange rates vary between those offered online and those available at the branch.
- Currency ordered on the website or over the phone can only be collected from our stores.
- Orders over the phone or WhatsApp (Tel: 020 7828 3482) are either confirmed by a WhatsApp message or with your mobile number.
- When an order is placed online, a confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge receipt.
- Orders placed online or over the phone must be paid for in person at the branch; payment cannot be made through the website.
- Orders are limited to one-“per person & per currency” within a 12-hour period, and in the event of multiple orders for the same currency, the very first order would be honoured.
- We reserve the right to confirm the customer’s identity with the name on the order confirmation email. Any incomplete orders would not be honoured.
- Please note the exchange rates are only applied to the existing stock we hold and anything in addition may differ and would be communicated with the customer in advance.
- All orders are held for a period of 24 hours from the confirmation email/WhatsApp.
- We reserve the right to cancel/dishonour any orders for reasons including but not limited to significant market fluctuations.
- Customers are strongly advised to count their change and collect a receipt for any foreign currency transactions before leaving the counter. Victoria Street FX Limited and its staff are not responsible for any shortages or claims made after the transaction is completed. Additionally, any funds provided to the customer in error or due to oversight may be reclaimed by Victoria Street FX Limited.
- By completing the order, the customer confirms that all the details provided to Victoria Street FX Limited are correct and accurate. The customer also confirms their acceptance of the transaction’s legality and acknowledges that the agreed exchange rate has been accepted.
- Currency exchange transactions are final and cannot be cancelled. Any currency purchased or sold by the customer can only be returned or repurchased through a new transaction at the prevailing market rate.
- Victoria Street FX Limited is indemnified against any errors or losses arising from a transaction, as well as any events beyond the control of Victoria Street FX Limited (force majeure).
- Complaints regarding currency exchange transactions must be reported to Victoria Street FX Limited within 14 days of the transaction being processed or the issue arising. Victoria Street FX Limited is committed to investigating and resolving complaints promptly. Our aim is to resolve issues immediately; however, if this is not feasible, a final response will be provided within 14 days, or in rare cases, within 30 days.
Currency Acceptance Terms
- We only trade banknotes, except Euro Coins, which we buy at 2.5/£.
- Our online exchange rates do not apply to high-value denomination notes, i.e. any single note with a value exceeding £100; US Dollar denominations of $5, $2 & $1; or coins. In such cases, refer below or WhatsApp us to find out the rates applicable on the day.
- A 1% premium on the exchange rate would be added to the banknotes of 200 Euros, 200 Swiss Francs, 1,000 Emirati Dirhams and 5,000 Czech Koruna.
- A 2.5% premium on the exchange rate would be added to the banknotes of 1,000 Swiss Francs, 1,000 Hong Kong Dollars, 500 Danish Krona, 500 Norwegian Krone, 500 Swedish Krone and 1,000 Singapore Dollars.
- 500 Euro Bills: We buy a maximum of 2 banknotes of 500 per person over a 30-day period, with proof of identification. The exchange rate would be different from what is quoted online or in-store.
- CHF (Series 8): We buy at a fixed rate of 1.375CHF/£
- We do not guarantee any denominations we have hold. A reasonable mix would be dispensed, subject to our availability.
- From 4pm on Fridays till 10am on Mondays; and bank holidays, payouts over £5,000 may have to be processed by a bank transfer. Please call or WhatsApp us for more information.
Payments & Supporting Documents Required
We accept payments by cash, personal debit cards and Vyne. We would request for additional supporting documents depending on your total transaction value over a certain period
Supporting documents listed below are required for a one-off transaction; and linked transactions over a 30 or a 90-day period. We also reserve the right to request additional documents to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the information provided. We may also use a third-party referral agency to verify the information you have provided, which may result in a soft search on your credit file. Please let us know by email if you are not happy with us carrying out this check.
Payment Methods & Thresholds
- The customer’s full name and date of birth are required for any transactions over £2,950. For transactions over £4,950 we would require a valid government issued photographic identification, such as a UK driving licence or an international passport. We also reserve the right to request for documentation at any amount.
- In addition to the above, any single transaction above the value of £9,950, or a linked transaction over £9,950 within a 30 days’ period, or a linked transaction over £19,950 over 90 days’ period; would require the following:
- Proof of ID
- Proof of address within the last 3 months, i.e. Utility bills
- Source of Funds, i.e. 3 months’ bank statements, payslips, HMRC border/customs declaration, withdrawal slips etc.
- Source of Wealth, i.e. documents showing the accumulation of funds-inheritance details including executor statements, asset sales with evidence etc.
- Completion of a large transaction form.
- To comply with legal requirements, we may use your personal information to perform additional customer due diligence, including background checks (which may involve third-party providers). We employ various methods to verify each transaction and reserve the right to decline or refuse processing your order, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason. We also reserve the right to reject orders without providing a reason. If payment has already been made, refunds will be issued accordingly. All requested documentation and information will be securely stored to ensure confidentiality.
- CASH PAYMENTS,
- British Sterling Pounds only accepted, Scottish, Irish or Jersey Pounds notes are not accepted
- We do not accept the old paper notes, new version of banknotes only.
- DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS,
- Card payments over £495 would require proof of government issued identification.
- Maximum value of purchase per debit card, per day, per person, is limited to £2,500. This threshold applies for single or multiple debit cards under the same name.
- Strictly no credit cards, business or corporate cards.
- Victoria Street FX Limited is not liable for any additional charges you may incur from your card provider.
